What's Changed?
You may notice a few changes as of August 2nd, 2010 on DropQuotes.com. We've taken a number of your bug reports and user feedback emails and completely rebuilt the gameplay script to suit your demands! Changes include:
- Faster response time - the old code tended to "skip" a little if you typed several letters quickly all at once. The new code has been built from the ground up using entirely new, and much more efficient methods, and should now be able to keep up with even the speediest of typists!
- No more pop-ups - the majority of players have agreed that the error pop-ups (i.e. "The letter X is not available in this column") were just distracting and time-wasting. And we agree! So we've completely removed them. Now there are no more error popups - if you type a letter which isn't available in the current square, nothing will happen.
- Hit ENTER or RETURN to submit - another frequent request... in the old game, you had to physically click with the mouse in order to submit the game board. No more! Just hitting the ENTER/RETURN key on your keyboard will initiate a puzzle submission. That should shave at least a second or two off your times. :-)
- Bugfixes - and we've fixed several other bugs... occasionally letters would not appear properly in the top column if you'd placed them on the board and then taken them off, and sometimes the top column height would be too tall or too short. Both of these issues have been fixed.
If you have questions, problems or feedback about these changes, please let us know! Thanks for playing!
