I found a quote that just doesn't seem right. It is translated from French.
It is: Anatole French:
"When a thing has been said well have no scruple take it and copy it."
I am reasonably acquainted with English. This needs another word "said" such as:
"When a thing has been said and well said, have no scruple: take it and copy it."
I'm not fond of this version either. It is not clear; it seems to describe the manner of speaking rather than the manner of thinking then using the proper words to suit the situation (which is what I think was meant).
The URL for the French (which could have been altered also) is http://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Anatole_France and that version is:
"Quand une chose a été dite et bien dite, n'ayez aucun scrupule, prenez-la, copiez." and their translation:
"When a thing has been said and well said, have no scruple: take it and copy it."
I ran it through a software translator and got back gobbledegook. However, when I translated the English (second version above) the French became:
"Quand une chose a été dite, et bien dite, n'ayez aucun scrupule ; prenez-la et copiez-la."
The web has many permutations of this quote, many with extra or misplaced punctuation, none of which convey the original meaning (as I see it).
I think it should be removed, or insert the "said". The headaches from players to report a bug ain't worth it. (But either could wait until players have a crack at it and ruin their rating like I did -- kidding!!; I fell asleep during a game this morning. My rating, such as it is, was already ruined).
I can live with olde English spelling, bad translations, modified quotations, etc., but this one I couldn't pass up.
